Suzhou Tram L2 Opened for Trial Operation, and FITSCO Assisted Suzhou Rail Network Construction

Date:2018-9-12 13:43

Suzhou Tram L2 was officially opened for trial operation on August 31, 2018. This is the second line, after the Extension Line of Suzhou Tram L1, opened this year in Suzhou High-tech Zone. It marks that the tram of Suzhou High-tech Zone has entered network operation mode.

Tram L2, with the total length of 18.463 km and 13 stations, is a backbone road runs east-west in northwest of Suzhou High-tech Zone. It can transfer to tram L1, and they build up the public transportation network backbone in the High-tech Zone, as well as realize tram network operation, which brings great convenience for people and will effectively promote development in the areas along the lines.

Tram L2 takes into account the needs of commute and travel, and the line condition is complex. There are up to 34 junctions in about 11 km on the ground and 9 level-crossing. The length of viaduct line is 7 km, with 2 stations. The underpass crosses canals four times and highways, successfully avoiding 25 junctions.

To deal with the complicated conditions of Tram L2, with the demand of tram network construction, FITSCO fully plays the advantages as a self-independence supplier, relying on advanced JeTram ® signaling system, and provides point control system in the mainline and depot, the junction signaling priority system and the on-board system. According to the special conditions of the line, optimizing the train positioning function and the signaling priority linkage function in junctions, in order to ensure driving safety and increase the speed of travel, as well as supporting control center to debug network operation so as to guarantee a fully functional line opened on time.

Suzhou Tram L2 is the third signaling and communication system integration project undertaken and opened by FITSCO in Suzhou, following Tram L1 and L3 (the extension line of L1). FITSCO team continues to carry forward the hard work style. In the face of many unfavorable factors such as complex routes, expansion and interweave of new systems and existing systems, and poor construction conditions, it actively organizes the technical force to conduct a lot of on-site tests,  survey and validation for many times to ensure the smooth delivery of the project. FITSCO also accumulates valuable experiences in the tram network expansion, construction, cost optimization and etc.
