On 5 November, 2013, the opening ceremony of Soochow Research Center of Rail Transit Signal & Communication Engineering Technology was held. This research center was constructed by FITSCO. It combines with Soochow University and Soochow tram companies to do some technical research on signal & communication of urban transit, including tramcar, and provide strong technical support to the construction and development of Soochow rail transit. Zhou Xudong, the director of Soochow Tech City Management Committee, Lu Jianmei, the vice-president of Soochow University, Chen Ming, the member of Soochow Tech City Working Committee and the director of S&T City Management Committee, and the general manager of Soochow FITSCO Wu Hao inaugurated for the research center. Gu Caiya, the deputy secretary of Soochow Tech City Management Committee, Wang Yiming and Yang Qing, the dean and the secretary of the institute of urban rail transit, Soochow University, and all staff of Soochow FITSCO attended the ceremony.
Zhou Xudong and other leaders, accompanied by the general manager, Wu Hao, visited the office and exhibition room of Soochow FITSCO. Zhang Jianfeng, the executive deputy general manager, introduced FITSCO’s achievements on simulation system of tramcar operation in detail. The independent innovation received a lot approval and favorable comments. Ma Yuehai, the vice general manager of FITSCO, introduced our business development that expecting necessary supports from government. In the communication, Soochow urban transit and tramcar development was warmly discussed. The director Zhou Xudong made directives on employee recruitment and company development. The director Chen Ming presented opinions and questions about tramcar, hoping the research center come up with correspondent solutions after doing some research.
